Pump prices set to ease again in the latest monthly review
Motorists and transport operators will pay slightly less at the pump from midnight, the third consecutive monthly cut.
Pump prices will ease slightly from midnight following the latest monthly review, the third consecutive reduction, as global crude prices hold steady and the shilling remains broadly stable.
Transport operators welcomed the cut but said it was too small to justify lowering fares immediately. “We will watch the next two reviews before we adjust,” said a matatu SACCO official.
Consumer groups urged the government to pass on more of the savings, arguing that taxes still make up a large share of the pump price.
The next review is due at the end of the month.
